LOOP LOC CUSTOM COVER
MEASURING INSTRUCTIONS
| SKETCH MEASUREMENTS:
If your pool is very geometric, or
a variation of a rectangle, or oval with known radius measurements, A-B measurements may
not be necessary. If your pool is not of a "freeform" design, with free flowing
curves, perimeter measurements may suffice*. Draw a sketch of your pool and label all
corners of the pool with letters A-?, and provide exact INSIDE of POOL measurements from A
to B, B to C, C to D...... Then provide 2 or more cross dimensions, i.e. A-D or B-H;
for example. We should be able to price it with this much, although Loop-Loc may
require A-B measurements for the manufacture of the cover. A-B MEASUREMENTS: If your pool is Freeform, i.e. not a variation on a rectangle;
triangulation measurements (A-B measurements) are necessary to reproduce your exact pool
measurements on Loop-Loc's computers. Please provide INSIDE dimensions (the innermost edge
of the pool's coping). Please write numbers legibly and dark so they fax well. Note
any non-removable obstructions within 2' of pool's edge and width of available decking
surrounding pool.
BEGIN WITH A FREE
HAND SKETCH OF THE POOL ON THE GRID ON PAGE 2;
INDICATE INSIDE POOL DIMENSIONS. INCLUDE DECK AREA, PLANTERS AND ANY OBSTRUCTION WITHIN 3'
OF THE WATERLINE. A PHOTO IS NEEDED WHEN ROCKS, WATERFALLS, RAISED WALLS, SPAS OR ANYTHING
OUT OF THE ORDINARY EXISTS.
ESTABLISH 2 POINTS,
"A & B" WITH "A" ON THE LEFT AS SHOWN BELOW.
MARK THESE POINTS IN THE GROUND WITH LONG SCREWDRIVERS.
"A-B" LINE MUST BE AT LEAST 3' AWAY FROM THE POOL'S EDGE
AND 2/3 THE LENGTH OF THE POOL; 20-25' IS TYPICAL. THE A & B
POINTS MUST NEVER INTERSECT THE POOL LINE. INDICATE LOCATION OF A & B
POINTS, AND THEIR DISTANCE APART ON THE DRAWING. ONCE AGAIN, A LINE DRAWN STRAIGHT
THROUGH POINTS A-B MUST NOT INTERSECT THE EDGE OF THE POOL ON EITHER END OF THE LINE.
USING CHALK OR DUCT
TAPE, MARK AND NUMBER THE POINTS ALONG THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE POOL AT
APPROXIMATELY 3' INTERVALS. MARK AND NUMBER ALL LADDERS, HANDRAILS, GRABRAILS, SLIDE
LEGS, ROCKS, STEPS, FILL SPOUTS AND DIVING BOARD STAND IF THEY ARE NOT
REMOVABLE, OR IF THEY ARE WITHIN 18" OF THE POOL'S EDGE. MARK AND NUMBER BOTH SIDES
OF A SPA WALL AND SPILLWAY, AS SHOWN BELOW. 1'-2' INTERVALS SHOULD BE USED IN SMALL OR
TIGHT RADIUS AREAS AND RAISED WALL AREAS. STRAIGHT RUNS OF THE POOL EDGE CAN USE 4'
INTERVALS. INDICATE LOCATION OF ALL POINTS AND NUMBER THEM ON THE DRAWING. AN AVERAGE SIZE
POOL MAY NEED ONLY 35-45 POINTS. ROUND OUT YOUR MEASUREMENTS TO THE NEAREST INCH (do not
write a measurement as 34' 5-1/2", but rather, 34'6)
MEASUREMENTS ARE NOW
TAKEN FROM POINT "A" TO POINT #1, THEN TO POINT #2, AND ALL THE WAY AROUND THE
POOL (TO PT 66 IN THE EXAMPLE BELOW). THEN MEASURE FROM POINT "B" TO SAME POINT
#1 AND THEN #2, AS YOU DID FROM POINT "A". MEASUREMENTS ARE WRITTEN IN THE
COLUMNS ON PAGE 2.
TAKE MEASUREMENTS
BETWEEN 2-4 KNOWN POINTS TO RECORD POINT TO POINT CROSS DIMENSIONS.
RECORD THESE IN THE AREA PROVIDED ON PAGE 2. (for example: point 2 - 32 =
36'1", or point 11 - 47 = 15'3")

*NOTE: Loop-Loc makes the determination of the measurements they need to fabricate a
cover. A pool that may be fairly geometric may still require A-B measurements for the
cover fabrication. |
PLEASE NOTE: Custom covers from Loop-Loc are not returnable. Please take care when
measuring. Mistakes
in measuring which produce mathematical impossibilities will be flagged
and returned to us from Loop-Loc.
HOWEVER, mistakes can be made that do not raise mathematical flags.
Please measure carefully, and call
if you have any questions. Let our expertise be your guide, we love to
help!
